"Thriving with ADHD is a resource that I will be recommending to my patients and their families. Miller adroitly manages to combine compassion, creativity, and ingenuity in her writing while keeping the exercises fun and engaging for her real audience—kids with ADHD. This resource will go a long way in encouraging the uniqueness of every child and fostering confidence in overcoming the challenges that ADHD can pose."—Sari Shepphird, PhD, Psychologist and Award-winning Author
“It took me two decades to learn how to turn the challenge of my childhood ADHD into my greatest strength. Through engaging games and powerful mindfulness practices, Kelli helps children learn self-regulation while having fun. Children learn both to view their condition in a positive light as well as effective organizational skills. I only wish your workbook was available when I was a child.”—Pejman Katiraei, DO, Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics and Founder of Wholistic Kids and Families
“I always advise starting treatment with behavioral interventions. Some parents struggle to find the right book to help them develop a behavioral parenting plan, but now they have the perfect book! Thriving with ADHD makes the concepts clear, makes planning easy and fun, and is a great starting point for any parent working on a behavioral approach to helping their child.”—Keith Seibert, MD Pediatrician
“A must for any child in your life facing an ADHD diagnosis. The activities in this book are essential for any parent, therapist, or educator interested in helping children learn skills to help them thrive with ADHD.”—Katherine Woodward Thomas, NY Times Bestselling Author of Conscious Uncoupling: 5 Steps to Living Happily Even After
“As a learning disability specialist, I have seen dozens of books on the topic of ADHD, but I now have found the one that I know myself and my team of experts will all use. I highly recommend this book to educators, parents, grandparents, and especially to the kids! It’s time to thrive with ADHD!”—Farryl Dickter, MA, CCC-SLP, ET/P, Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist & Professional Educational Therapist
“Kelli transforms the ever-dreaded diagnosis of ADHD into a “glass half-full” rather than a “glass half-empty” experience by demonstrating the positive aspects of the condition. She teaches 60 self-help activities, easily applicable in all areas of a child’s life. Kelli brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to the table with a friendly and readable style. Thank you, Kelli, for providing this much-needed toolbox for kids!”—Debra Mandel, Ph.D., Psychologist, Author, and TV/Radio Personality
“This book is a great resource for children with ADHD and their families. It is accessible, educational, and includes many thought-provoking activities that can help kids succeed and feel more confident. I appreciate the humor, personal perspective, and the strength-based approach of this workbook. I will be recommending it to families!”—Joshua Mandelberg, MD, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician
“Kids with ADHD, along with their parents, teachers, and counselors, will find much to like and learn from in this valuable (and fun!) book filled with practical information, games, and exercises. Among its best features: accessible tools for self-understanding, helping kids to see themselves in a new, positive light—along with ways to work on making their lives easier and more rewarding. The "strengths-based," uplifting approach builds on solid research that not only counteracts the stigma of "having a problem" but also shows a clear path forward.”—Daniel Keating, Author of Born Anxious: The Lifelong Impact of Early Life Adversity—and How to Break the Cycle, and Professor of Psychology, University of Michigan

- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI have multiple children with ADHD and I wish I had had this book for each of them when they were younger. I purchased this after checking MANY books and reading ENDLESS reviews, for my 11 year old daughter.
This book will be easy for her to use, with a little help due to dyslexia, and I believe she will benefit from it in place of therapy as we wait to get some extra help for her.

Yes, get this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseLeft this on the couch after opening the package, came back to the book being flipped through and flagged for ideas to try right away.
Written in a way that interests kids and preteens, making them excited to try the strategies and techniques - which let's be honest makes all the difference between possible success and no chance.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2024Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAs a homeschooler, I wanted to check this out for some ideas. Immediately I was sucked in by the graph paper drawing breaks. I think I shouted at my fiancé.
The lessons are great, self importance, self love, understanding of self and others. She speaks directly to the child completing the activities also which is refreshing. It’s a perfect touch for teaching a child about how their mind works.
Love the book. Recommend the book.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseGreat work book for kids struggling to learn more about themselves with adhd. My daughter works on one activity a night and she has a better understanding of her now!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2021Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI absolutely love this workbook. My 10 year old suffers from ADHD, and unfortunately I do as well so it is harder for me to read through ADHD books for adults to figure out how I can help him.
The book starts with an explanation of what ADHD is and what it means, all written in a language that kids really understand. It is a very positive explanation of ADHD so kids don't feel like they are dumb or there is something bad about this.
It also goes into the types of ADHD with some characteristics of each type and a cute nickname for each type. I had fun talking through them with my son- I compared it to the different houses of Harry Potter- which house is he in?
We then started into the activities which included a checklist of ADHD attributes. It got my son to really open up to me and talk through some of the difficulties that he goes through and also feel like he is not alone in this. Some of the difficulties he was having made him feel like a failure. Now he knows that millions of kids have this and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Normally, my conversations with my 10 year old are just about how his day was and we cover really surface level topics. This book has enabled me to dig down deeper with my child to have more meaningful conversations and bond with him.
I highly recommend this book, in fact I can't recommend it enough. If you have a child with ADHD, buy this book!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2024Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseMy child has been angry and frustrated that she is so different from everyone else. I got this workbook and we sat and worked through it together and it completely changed her perspective about her adhd and helped her realize that the it comes with struggles but also it is what gives her so many strengths. I highly recommend this book for any kid with adhd. It was a great bonding / quality time experience to go through the workbook together but it is easy enough for her to do in her own also. She is 8. For children younger than 8 you would probably want to work through it with them but it would still be very helpful.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseLove this book for my ADHD grandkids. They are enjoying the different activities.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2022Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseFirst, I must say I do like this book. However, my son thought it was too "kidish". I could see this working with 6-9 years old. Maybe 10, but no age past that unless they are delayed. It did have a great kid explanation for what ADHD is and how that makes you different but not in a bad way. It has SHORT quizes and such to assess your type of ADHD, what symptoms you have, activities to build self-esteem in the child, tips for learning how to do well in school and other areas of life. For a younger child, I would highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for parents and kids alike
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAs a parent it can be difficult sometimes in the day to day chaos to remember children with ADHD don‘t function the same as those without. With this book not only did my child begin to understand themselves but as a parent it also gave insight and served as a reminder that, yes there are differences, those differences can be managed so that they are not resulting in negativity.
Additionally I would highly recommend the „anger management for kids“ workbook in this series. It is an absolute must especially as many children with ADHD tend to struggle in regulating this particular emotion.
