- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2020Size: WorkTunes ConnectStyle: Worktunes Connect BluetoothVerified PurchaseI really love these ear muffs. I have had them for a few days and have used them in a loud work environment and they cut out all the noises that are associated with hearing loss (loud diesel engines and piercing radio transmissions). I've used a band saw, cement cutter and a chainsaw and can hardly hear them. Voices are dim as well. These do NOT have the feature that allows you to push a button and briefly (10 seconds) hear what's going on in the room or surrounding vicinity. You have to pull the muff off your ear to hear things. I would have liked to have had a button for that feature (maybe on the other side / hint hint to 3M)!
I'm very impressed with the comfort they provide. They aren't too tight and they protect the ears nicely. I didn't get the ones with the ear gel, but the surface around the ear is smooth and comfortable. They are adjustable so one size pretty much fits all. I wear a size 8 in ball caps (big melon) and they fit fine. When adjusted for smaller folks (my wife) they are just as comfortable. I would have liked the wires that run from the ear muffs up into the over head strap to be a bit more discreet and out of the way (from getting caught on something) but again, no deal breaker. I have since used electrician's tape on them to secure the wires.
I am working in 100 degree temps right now and so far I've not had an issue with sweat in or around the ears or on my scalp. The device came fully charged and so far it's remained at full power after several days' use. I have taken a number of calls and they are crystal clear with the caller telling me that the microphone works awesome. It comes with a USB charge cable (not the charger) which can be plugged into any standard USB plug. The opposite end of the cable fits my android phone and other devices so it's versatile. When charging, there's a flashing blue light on the side below the power button that goes solid blue when they are fully charged. Doesn't take too long to charge up -- though I've not run them down -- and I do it daily. Don't make the mistake of leaving them on a charger well past the point that they're charged because (in my experience) this can reduce battery life.
I tested the distance from my blue-tooth device (in the same room) and found that when I am about 40 feet away, the signal fades, but for pairing with something like an MP3 or a phone it's pretty efficient. In my tri-level home it fades out at 20 feet and when I'm upstairs and it's downstairs, the signal is gone. I've used it with both a cell phone and MP3 and the music is clear. If you're an audiophile, you'll be slightly disappointed as you won't get the heavy bass and the highs, but for basic listening purposes (driving or studying) it's pretty damned nice. I listen to a lot of classical guitar music and progressive jazz and so far it's no disappointment. I really like using them to doze off to sleep for a nap.
You'll have to adjust the volume on your blue-tooth device to change the listening level in the ear muffs, but I DO like only having one button. Once you get the sequence down (to shuffle music/answer a call) it's a snap. It's nice because I use thick work gloves and the button protrudes just enough to make it easy when using them. Music stops when a call comes in and you hear a phone ring and all you have to do is press the button once to answer -- same thing to disconnect. You can reject the call by pressing the button and holding it. If you're listening to an MP3 you can use the forward/back or pause/play sequence by pushing that one button. One press is pause, two presses is advancing one song, three presses is backing up one song. Pretty simple! You cannot control playlists or switching between albums/artists with the button. That can only be done on the blue tooth device.
This was an inexpensive and practical purchase for me and something I should get a LOT of use out of -- especially since other users have already posted that their muffs have given them years of service. Want something that will blend well in your work environment and provide hands-free music and calls? This is it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2025Size: WorkTunes ConnectStyle: Worktunes Connect BluetoothVerified PurchaseI’ve been using the 3M WorkTunes Connect Hearing Protector for a few weeks now, and they are fantastic! The 24 dB NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) offers excellent protection from loud machinery while still allowing me to enjoy music or take calls through the Bluetooth connection. The sound quality is surprisingly good for a pair of earmuffs—they provide clear audio, and I can adjust the volume easily. The fit is comfortable, and they stay securely in place, even during long hours of use. Whether I'm mowing the lawn or working in the garage, these earmuffs keep me safe while letting me stay connected to my music or phone. Overall, they’re a great combination of safety and convenience. Highly recommend for anyone needing hearing protection with a bit of entertainment!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2025Size: Connect+ AM/FM with Bluetooth TechnologyStyle: Worktunes Connect Am/Fm + BluetoothVerified PurchaseThe Worktunes takes regular AA batteries -this is a huge plus & rare plus these days. I have rechargeable AA lithium batteries, that when they go bad, I can just buy a new set. Also, you can buy a rechargeable lithium ion battery pack for the Worktunes, if you want to -I wouldn't do this myself, why should I, when I can use my own AA rechargeables, or AA alkalines for much cheaper. A lot of other hearing protection have rechargeable non-replaceable lithium, or a proprietary replaceable lithium rechargeable that the seller promises they will sell/give to you, good luck with that, no thanks.
The Worktunes volume control is excellent, the other hearing protection I returned was wonky control. Some people say the Worktunes sound is too quiet, seems plenty loud enough to me, no complaints there, maybe hard of hearing, not judging. I used it with my snow blower, connected to my phone via bluetooth, rock on!!
The Worktunes uses a standard micro USB cable, for recharging (note: it does not come with the rechargeable battery pack, you have to purchase it separately). The 3.5mm jack & USB port are protected by a rubber cover -which is good. The other hearing protection I returned did not have a cover, and without a cover, sawdust, grime, etc. is going to get in there.
The Worktunes manual is 16 pages of detailed information on the operation, as well as the safety of the hearing protection -professional & trusting, as I would expect from 3M. The protection I returned, just 2 pages, with minimal safety verbiage.
The Worktunes has a large "click wheel", and for bluetooth & AM/FM, click/turn once clockwise for next track, click once counter clockwise for previous track, simple, I like it.
The click wheel is meh for AM/FM. It clicks through "even " stations in the U.S.A, -which is a useless waste of time, example clicking 4 times clockwise in FM:
91.3 (start at)
91.4 click 1
91.5 click 2
91.6 click 3
91.7 click 4
In U.S.A there is never a 91.4, or a 91.6, so you are wasting time clicking through these "useless stations".
Last night I made a belt out of old watches, that was a waist of time for sure.
Get your mad click skilz ready, cuz you're gonna do a lot of it.
The software should sense that if you click/turn quickly, that it should like skip ahead to stations like every 5 stations per click, so you're not wasting time, and when you slow down the clicks, it clicks every decimal point.
Currently it clicks every decimal point, and it's not a great design.
If you replace the batteries, bye bye presets, so the other reviews say. I only listen to bluetooth, so I didn't test this, cut me some slack jack, don't have a boring tuna, don't have a boring life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect mix of headphones and ear defenders
Size: WorkTunes ConnectStyle: Worktunes Connect BluetoothVerified PurchaseFirst off, let's address the elephant in the room - the price. These are VERY expensive considering you can get half decent Bluetooth headphones for about £20 and half decent ear defenders for under a tenner.
I actually held off buying these for ages because I was using my half decent headphones under my half decent ear defenders but it was such a faff with the headphones falling out all the time and not particularly comfortable after a while that I finally succumbed and coughed up the dosh.
And if you're going to use them often (pretty much every day for me) then these are absolutely worth the investment.
I mainly use them to listen to audiobooks and podcasts while using the sander or drill and I have no trouble hearing the audio over either of those tools and it's still passable with much louder tools like circular saws. If you're in a quieter environment, like doing the washing up while the kids argue over the last pack of Doritos, then you can happily tune out all the background noise and listen to your tunes in peace.
As long as you're not expecting world class sound quality (and why would you from 3M?) then these headphones are brilliant - battery life lasts hours and hours, range is decent, build quality is spot on so far... The only downside I can see is the price but if you think you'll get your moneys worth then definitely buy a pair

5.0 out of 5 stars Good cost, good quality!
Size: WorkTunes ConnectStyle: Worktunes Connect BluetoothVerified PurchaseI had low expectations, got a very good suprise of how these came out.
Good design, not to heavy, very easy to work (Hold the button on the side to connect, 1 click for pause, 2 clicks for back, hold to turn off) absolutely simple, great audio and didn't dig too deep into my pockets.
Well done, 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars comodidad y sin ruidos.
Saludos
